Teaching Assistant - Smallwood Primary School & Language Unit
The Role
34.5 hours per week (with ½ hour unpaid lunch break)
Term Time Only - 39 weeks per year
Smallwood is a one and a half form entry school with a Language Unit for 40 pupils, which is situated in a vibrant and diverse community. We have an ongoing commitment to improving standards for all pupils and to further developing our provision and drive to meet their needs. We are currently looking to expand our highly motivated and enthusiastic team of support staff to support individual pupils and small groups.
We are passionate about the education of our children, continuous professional development of all staff and a strong partnership with parents and the wider community.
Additionally, the school has a provision for 40 pupils with an EHCP who have communication and language disorders including Autism. It is important to us that all adults contribute to the growth and development of every child and support their individual needs. We are currently looking to expand our highly motivated and enthusiastic team of support staff.
You will be a calm, patient and resourceful individual who will be able to respond positively to the challenges of working with groups and individual pupils of all abilities within a mainstream class. You will also support our pupils to ensure the safety, well-being and good behaviour during the lunchtime break.
You will be positive and enthusiastic in your approach and will seek to provide the opportunity for the children they are working with to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. A minimum of G.C.S.E. grade C or above in English and Maths and NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or relevant experience is required.
