Wandsworth Sensory Support Service is a provider of education for children and young people with Sensory Impairment.  This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly motivated and skilled team as a Teaching Assistant within the Willow Hearing Support Centre based at Sellencourt Primary School. The Willow currently has twelve primary aged deaf children who follow a mainstream curriculum with added specialist support from the Hearing Support Centre.

You will be working mainly with a reception aged child with both a hearing impairment and developmental delay. The child will require one to one support with daily tasks including self-care as well as support with audiology and access to the curriculum.

It is crucial that the postholder is calm, patient and able to demonstrate a high level of awareness when caring for children. The postholder will also need to be able to adapt to a busy and ever changing environment as well as engage with the multi-disciplinary team involved in the student’s wider care provision. As part of the Willow team, the postholder will be expected to have a flexible approach and may be deployed by the Teacher in Charge to work with other children in the provision.
