Temporary Accommodation Officer

The Role

As with many other Boroughs in the capital, tackling homelessness is a high priority.

We are recruiting for 5 permanent and 1 fixed term Temporary Accommodation Procurement Officers. Who will be focusing on particular areas within the team.

3 permanent roles be required to source new business to increase the supply of properties based on the demand by building relationships with landlords, agents and developers. Under the Council’s Leasing and Lettings Schemes.  This will involve, property inspections, landlord liaison, offering of accommodation, and tenancy support.

Along with 2 permanent roles and 1 fixed term two-year contract to manage bookings of emergency temporary accommodation, allocation of temporary accommodation, discharging duty and inspections of nightly paid accommodation.

You will be joining a busy and hardworking team during a time of transformational change where every day offers an opportunity to make a positive difference.

We are looking for a four committed individuals with strong communication and excellent negotiation skills. We invite people who share our passion, commitment, and enthusiasm; 

  • Are you a strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills?
  • Able to set and achieve personal targets that make an impact on team performance and efficiency?
  • First rate problem solver and able to use own initiative?
  • Give advice Landlords advice in line with legislation?
  • Able to be communicate effectively with a range of people, particularly landlords?
  • Knowledge of Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, including Suitability of Accommodation
  • Able to deliver excellent customer care skills with an ability to mediate and resolve challenges?


36 hours per week worked from Monday- Friday – flexible working can be considered

Must have access to a vehicle or be able to use public transport and carry out property inspections in line with current guidance and law
