The Role

27.5 hours per week (9am to 3.30pm)
Term Time Only (39 weeks) (38 weeks + 5 INSET days)
Required to start as soon as possible

We are looking for a temporary Learning Support Assistant to work with children in KS1 with social and emotional needs.  This post is initially on a temporary basis (until 31st August 2020) and is also event linked which means if before this date the children you are assigned to leave the school the post will cease. 
 
You must:
• be able to support pupils develop strategies to overcome barriers in learning;
• have experience of managing challenging behaviour;
• be resilient, enthusiastic and creative.

Experience of working with children with SEN in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.  However, you should be able to demonstrate knowledge/understanding of the needs of such pupils described above.  You will need to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to helping children to achieve their best.  

You will be joining a hard working and friendly team and you will be provided with support, guidance and training organised by our SENCo.
