Trainee Pensions Officer

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Pensions Shared Service as a Trainee Pensions Officer.  The Pensions Shared Service based in Wandsworth runs the administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme for five London boroughs: Camden, Merton, Richmond, Waltham Forest and Wandsworth. 

You will study towards obtaining the Advanced Diploma in Retirement Provision, which is a nationally recognised qualification for retirement benefit professionals, administered by the Pensions Management Institute (PMI). Home study will be required.

No previous experience of pensions administration is needed. If you meet the essential criteria of a minimum of Maths and English Language GCSE/O'Level (or equivalent) at Grades A-C, you will be invited for an assessment test to see whether you are suited to the role (further details are outlined below).

Indicative Recruitment Timeline

The numeracy and literacy test will be held on the morning of Monday 25 March 2019, if successful, an interview will follow on Friday 29 March 2019. If you are selected to sit the test you will be emailed on Tuesday 19 March 2019 to confirm this. Please ensure that you bring a calculator and pen for the test.

If you are selected for an interview you will be asked questions relating to the ‘Brief Guide to the Local Government Pension Scheme’, please see attached document.
