The Role

Are you interested in making a key difference to the lives of half a million residents in Southwest London?

We recognise that IT plays a key role in the delivery of effective Council services and continuous improvement. Our high-performing Corporate IT Service comprises over 120 staff and oversees all aspects of IT across both Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. We also work with a range of external partners and suppliers to complement our in-house IT teams.

Working across the IT Project Management Office and Business Partnership functions, you will enjoy a wide range of opportunities to assist in the production of  IT investment proposals, feasibility studies, business cases and options appraisals. You will also contribute to the day-to-day oversight and management of selected projects and programmes in accordance with our chosen project and programme management methodologies – ‘Prince2’ and ‘Managing Successful Programmes’.

A highly organised and IT-savvy individual with excellent numeracy and literacy skills, you will play a key role in project control and assurance activities complemented by high-quality project documentation. We offer extensive tailored formal and on-the-job training leading to industry-recognised qualifications delivered by our training partners. You will benefit from experienced mentors and a friendly supportive working environment where you can exchange ideas and good practice with peer groups of skilled Project Management and IT professionals.

If you are motivated and energised by furthering your professional development in project management within a diverse and dynamic IT Service, we would love to hear from you. We guarantee a varied and rewarding experience where no two days will be the same.

At Richmond and Wandsworth Councils, we care more about how you work and what you achieve, rather than where you work on any given day. We have carefully considered agile ways of working to provide the best experience for residents, stakeholders and our staff. Our agile working strategy actively supports and encourages a dynamic work environment and daily working experience.
