Weekend Library Assistant 

£24,684-£29,487 (Pro-rata) 

Sundays, Part-Time contract 4.5 hours per week 


Richmond upon Thames operates a high performing public library service which is very well regarded within the community. The role of the Sunday Library Assistant is to assist in the effective delivery of library services to the public, carrying out a range duties working with the Sunday Manager to maintain a high level of service across the 3 library sites open on Sunday.

 

As the Sunday Sc4 Library Assistant post you will:

 

To open and close buildings as required and to be responsible for the security of the building and its contents whilst open to the public.

To support new or inexperienced members of staff.

To help create and maintain a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment for  both customer and colleagues

multi task in a busy environment

work on a customer service desk carrying out a range of duties including answering enquires and dealing with the issue and return of resources

To help library users to access a range of IT resources

To assist  with the promotion of library stock 

 

Library staff pride themselves on the high quality and welcoming service they are able to offer local people.  

 

Modern public libraries are  busy and stimulating spaces, open to all members of the community and library staff need to be resilient, confident and resourceful in order to deal with the often complex and challenging issues that occur as a result. 

 You may be be required to work in any of the 3 libraries open on a Sunday so you will need to be flexible in your attitude to work

 

Hours - 4.5 hour Weekend Post

Every Sunday from 12.45 -5.15
