The Role

We are looking for a caring and sensitive person to carry out chapel duties and related tasks at Putney Vale Cemetery and Crematorium predominantly on Sundays and Bank Holidays and occasional Saturdays to cover staff absence.

The job involves a variety of duties including assisting with weekend funerals, light administration work, the security of buildings and chapels, accompanying the bereaved for the scattering or burial of ashes, and cleaning duties. You will provide assistance and advice to the bereaved in sometimes stressful and emotional circumstances.

You will need a flexible attitude to working hours with an average of 7 hours per week, in addition to working a proportion of each of the Bank Holidays and covering our other attendant on Saturdays during leave periods.
