Reports to: HR and Operations Manager
Start date: August 2021
Salary: Band 3 £22,206 - £23,427 based on experience.
Closing Date: 19th July 8am

The Role
Within the role of HR Assistant, you will work alongside the HR and Operations Manager to ensure effect delivery of the HR provision. The role is a generalist position and will give someone willing to progress a lot of potential to grow in different areas.

Key Responsibilities
People Management and ER
- To support the HR and Operations Manager in the effective and efficient running of the HR department to ensure a high level of staff wellbeing and inclusion.
- Assist with ER meetings such as investigations and disciplinary, supporting with attendees’ packs and note taking.
- Produce a range of HR letters, e.g., change of contract, maternity, and a range of outcome letters.
- Managing the recruitment of new staff, e.g., requesting vacancies, creating inclusive job adverts, organising interviews, and liaising with candidates.
- To manage the onboarding of new staff e.g., collecting all necessary documentation, offer and contract letters and leasing with the Line Manager and ensuring induction documentation is available.
- To monitor probations and fixed term contracts and ensure Line Managers are up to date with all paperwork and processes.
- To manage the appraisal and pay review system in line with Ark Policies.
Other
- Manage the HR system to ensure all employee data is up to date and accurate.
- Ensure the Safeguarding of our pupils by maintaining an accurate Single Central Record as well as managing external visitors to site.
- To manage the payroll processes ensuring accuracy.
- General data collection and analysis of staff data.

Person Specification
Essential Skills - Experience and Knowledge
- Excellent administration and organisational skills.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office.
- Able to skilfully manage and maintain effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders.
Essential Skills – Personal Attributes
- A desire to work within HR and further develop your skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- A professional approach when interacting with colleagues.
Desirable skills
- Experience working within HR.
- CIPD level 3/5 either working towards either or achieved.
- An understanding of HR legislation.
Other
