The Role
Are you interested in making a key difference to the lives of half a million residents in Southwest London?
We’d love to hear from you if you answered yes.
The London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Wandsworth have been operating a ground-breaking Shared Staffing Arrangement since 2016 – a workforce of some 4,000 employees serving both local authorities. We offer the unique opportunity to be part of one of the largest most innovative local government organisations in London where the Councils are committed to sharing business processes and systems; and maintaining quality value-for-money services whilst retaining individual Council sovereignty and the ability to deliver tailored local services where appropriate.
We recognise the pivotal role played by IT in ensuring effective Council services and successful change management initiatives. Our high-performing Corporate IT Service comprises over 120 staff and oversees all aspects of IT across both Councils. We also work with a range of external suppliers to complement and supplement our in-house IT teams.
As a member of the Corporate IT Management Team reporting directly to the Head of IT, you will be accountable for managing the Councils’ annual IT budget of over £10M. Working closely with the SSA Finance Directorate, you will maintain the highest levels of probity in all IT Finance matters and ensure that the IT Service remains within its operational budget. You will also oversee all IT-related contracts and be a key contributor to strategic procurement and contract management discussions. In addition to your IT Finance operations remit, you will advise on the financial aspects of IT business proposals and major projects.
With a demonstrable financial and contact management track record complemented by a solid appreciation of all things IT, you will be comfortable working with variety of IT and Finance professionals, external suppliers and Council officers at all levels whilst maintaining robust financial practices capable of withstanding stringent scrutiny. You will also enjoy opportunities to exchange ideas and good practice with peer groups of other skilled Finance and IT professionals
If you are motivated and energised by a senior finance role in a diverse and dynamic IT service, we would love to hear from you.
