Premises Officer - Victoria Drive Primary Pupil Referral Unit

About Us

15 hours a week (3 hours a day – Monday -Friday) (additional hours is negotiable)

£12,333 (Actual) additional hours not included (Scale 4 Point 10)

Term Time, plus additional weeks throughout the school holidays

Start Date: September 2026 (can discuss earlier start date)


Victoria Drive is a warm, welcoming and inclusive Primary Pupil Referral Unit that prides itself on the highly effective working partnership with Wandsworth Primary Schools. It provides expert teaching and support to pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD). The core objective of the work is to sustain very low levels of exclusion by promoting the inclusion of pupils and strengthening schools’ capacity to respond to pupils’ needs. In our Health and Safety Report (Feb 26) we achieved VERY GOOD status and we are very proud of our environment.  

 

Premises Officer will maintain excellent, friendly relationships with children, staff and visitors and keep the school safe, clean and in good repair.  Any job offer is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check, references/health check and 6 months probationary period.

 

Our children have asked that our new Premises Officer “…is good at fixing things, will not get cross when balls land on the roof and will help us make our school look even better”.

 

Duties will include:

 

  • Security, minor repairs, painting, building shelves and general maintenance of Victoria Drive
  • Monitoring the work of outside contractors
  • As an emergency key holder, call outs to school site to deal with emergencies
  • Health and Safety Risk Assessment / Fire Risk Assessment and Electrical Safety testing (PAT)
  • Carrying out checks, monitoring and completing paperwork with support with the Business Leader and Administration Officer for Health and Safety, aspects of the post including asbestos, COSHH and legionella’s, as well as keeping an up to date inventory of Victoria Drive assets.

 

Essential requirements:

 

  • Flexibility and reliability
  • Committed to delivering high service standards.
  • Experience of working in a Maintenance role
  • Self-motivated and innovative.
  • An understanding of Health and Safety regulations and their application
  • Demonstrate ability to organise and manage a diverse workload
  • A good team player with a cheerful disposition with an eye for detail.
  • Proven record of effective and strong commitment to equal opportunities.
  • Prepared to undertake training in relationship to safeguarding and premises and ladder training.
