About Us

Western Riverside Waste Authority is responsible for treating the waste and recycling collected by the London Boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Lambeth, Wandsworth and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The Authority is at a transitional stage, looking at how it may deliver waste services in the future, reduce carbon, prevent avoidable waste and provide value for money. We have some big decisions to make and we are developing strategies to help us make those decisions.

About the role

Due to our need to develop a Joint Waste Strategy with our four Councils, and thinking ahead to the need for a procurement strategy for the replacement of the current waste contract in 2032, we are looking for project management support to manage the flow of work that developing these two strategies will entail. As a Project Co-ordinator, working within a small and highly focussed team, you will play an integral part in the delivery of these projects on time and to budget.

What you will be doing

You will play a pivotal role in the co- ordination of tasks within the team and with external advisors by

  • Coordinating and scheduling project activities and resources
  • Ensuring projects are executed according to agreed timelines and budgets
  • Communicating project progress and updates to stakeholders including presentations to stakeholders
  • Identifying and managing project risks
  • Managing relationships with external advisors and internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitoring work stream budgets
  • Preparing regular status reports and presentations for stakeholders
  • Providing administrative support to the project team and
  • Performing other project-related duties as assigned

About You

You will need to have:

  • Previous experience as a Project Coordinator or similar
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail with a quick learning ability
  • Excellent level of numeracy skills

If you are a detail-oriented individual with excellent organisational skills and a passion for managing projects from start to finish, we would love to hear from you. Join our team as a Project Coordinator and contribute to the successful delivery of our projects.

Benefits

In return, we can offer you a competitive salary, generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, an interest-free loan for a travel card and free and confidential support via our Employee Assistance Programme.
