At Shaftesbury Park Primary School, we are proud of our inclusive ethos and commitment to nurturing every child to thrive. We are looking for a SEN teaching assistant who will be responsible, under the instruction or guidance of the class teacher, for supporting a pupil with ASD, enabling them to access learning. They will play a key role in supporting the class teacher by supporting vulnerable pupils and be committed to putting the child’s wellbeing first.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with young pre-verbal children with autism and is able to giver personal care.
- Is patient, nurturing and resilient, with a calm and consistent approach.
- Is a proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
- Will collaborate closely with the SENCO, class teachers, therapists and families.
- Will support the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
- Believes that all children can succeed with the right support.
