Teaching Assistant – Early Years - Ronald Ross Primary School

30 hours per week 

Term time only (39 weeks)

Ronald Ross Primary School is a thriving, vibrant and happy place of learning with an enthusiastic staff, committed to raising standards and school improvement. We are looking for a passionate and conscientious Teaching Assistant to work in our school, with the ability to work as part of a team as well as the capacity to use initiative. The job profile will include supporting the Teacher with the development and education of the pupils in the class and on the playground with children at break and lunchtimes.

You will:
•    Enjoy working with children and be able to develop positive relationships with them

•    Be able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child being supported•    Have relevant training in supporting children with special educational needs in the classroom setting

•    Be able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour

•    Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team

•    Have good communication skills•    Knowledge of Makaton desirable
