Shaftesbury Park Primary School is an award-winning Rights Respecting School in Battersea. We are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and autism. The successful candidate will help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to engage in learning. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about inclusive education.
The Role
You will:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs and autism in class and through small group or individual work
- Help children develop emotional regulation, confidence and positive learning behaviours
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team
- Support pupils to engage positively with learning and school routines
- Contribute to a calm, structured and nurturing environment
We are looking for someone who
- Has experience supporting children with SEMH and/or autism
- Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Is calm, patient and consistent in their approach
- Works well as part of a team supporting inclusive practice
- Is keen to develop their skills through training and professional learning
